Parallel Printer Cables
While most printers now use USB cables to connect to computers, some older printers still use Parallel Printer Cables and Ports. While these cables have fallen out of use, those printers that still use them usually connect to computers by a DB-25 connector, featuring 25-pins. DB-25 ports, pictured right, are found on older computers and feature 25 holes in which the pins on the connector fit.
While one end of these cables features the DB-25 connector, the other end usually features a Micro Ribbon 36-pin connector. These 36-pin connectors fit into a 36-pin port on the printer itself, pictured right.
